In the summer of 2006, a small group of five Armenians who hail from Romania but currently reside in Los Angeles and New York rendered a small financial assistance to the Rugby Federation of Armenia in the amount of 350 $. The sum was used to cover the expenses of the maintenance of the Federation's website. All the five sponsors were rugby-players in their youth and played for teams of different levels in Romania.

It should also be mentioned that at the request of the RFA leadership, one of the initiators of this support action Krikor Krikorian in August of this year held a series of meetings in Bucharest with the leadership of the Rugby Federation of Romania. Due to his efforts favorable conditions were created for cooperation between the two federations. In particular, the Rugby Federation of Romania offered to its colleagues from Armenia to render assistance in training coaches on quite preferential conditions. Negotiations between the two federations regarding this matter will be continued.

For his assistance, Krikor Krikorian received a letter of gratitude signed by the RFA President Yuri Beglaryan. According to this letter, Krikor Krikorian now has the powers to conduct preliminary negotiations on behalf of the RFA.
